WorkForce Central understands that workforce development and economic development are touchstones of a prosperous community. Increased efforts to align workforce supply with industry demand, while also working to grow industries with living wage jobs, are essential when nurturing a strong economy.

We partner with economic development organizations to advocate for and leverage resources in building additional job training and placement opportunities. We also offer workforce expertise and data in serving on business recruiting teams.

A foundational tenant of these partnerships is to develop successful, long-term and strategic relationships based on achieving best practices with a sustainable, competitive advantage.

Successful partnerships include:

Amazon Fulfillment Center - WorkForce Central partnered with the Economic Development Board of Tacoma-Pierce County and the City of DuPont to bring a second fulfillment center to Pierce County, resulting in several hundred additional jobs.

Veteran & Business Service - WorkForce Central partnered with the Tacoma-Pierce County Chamber of Commerce to encourage local businesses to develop a veteran hiring program. The program also connects employers to public- and private-sector resources that support veterans and employers throughout the transition from military to civilian life.
