Kids driving backhoes? Running jackhammers? Looking up from their phones? Career Day is more than just booths and brochures; it’s a hands-on, get-dirty, life-changing event.
Nearly 80 percent of contractors in Washington can’t find enough skilled workers for well-paying jobs. Opportunity is knocking, but students often don’t know about these careers and they won’t find much online.
Students will be required to wear a hard hat provided by the event sponsors, observe safety rules, and wear safety glasses. Lunch will be provided. Volunteers and staff will be in attendance.
