Summer Jobs 253

Summer Jobs 253–sponsored by WorkForce Central and a collection of partners–offers incoming juniors and seniors in the Tacoma Public School District the opportunity to gain paid work experience and earn credits at the same time.

Due to COVID-19, Summer Jobs 253 work experience programs are not being offered at the moment. If you’d like to learn more about Career Pathways opportunities, click here to learn about programs at the REACH Center.

Mayor Marilyn Strickland led the City of Tacoma in launching Summer Jobs 253 in 2013. During its fourth year (2016), 172 students participated. Students earn high school credit through Tacoma Public Schools and some are eligible for college credit through a partnership with Tacoma Community College.
