Through an employee training initiative with WorkForce Central Business Solutions, Absher Construction developed and implemented a leadership development program designed to strengthen the skills of employees across multiple levels of the organization.

In collaboration with Clover Park Corporate Education, the program was created to address key workforce needs identified by Absher, including communication, coaching, self-awareness, conflict resolution, and navigating difficult workplace conversations. Participants consistently reported that the training was practical, relevant, and immediately applicable to their daily work.
The program equipped employees with tools to become more effective leaders, strengthen relationships with coworkers and subcontractors, and approach challenging conversations with greater confidence. Participants applied their learning in real time, improving communication, coaching practices, and team effectiveness across the organization. Some participants even carried the lessons forward by incorporating leadership concepts into internal training efforts, helping extend the impact beyond the classroom.
Most importantly, the investment produced measurable results for employees and the company. 16 employees earned promotions, and numerous individuals received wage increases following participation in the program. These outcomes demonstrate how strategic investments in employee development can create pathways for advancement, increase earning potential, and build a stronger internal leadership pipeline.
By partnering with WorkForce Central Business Solutions to invest in its workforce, Absher Construction strengthened leadership capacity across its organization while creating tangible opportunities for employees to grow professionally and economically. The success of the program highlights the value of aligning workforce development resources with employer-driven needs to achieve meaningful outcomes for both businesses and workers.
