Bright Ide Acres

Bright Ide Acres in Orting said they found Hire Pierce County: Next Gen beneficial for their farm in several ways.

“It can be hard to find part-time crew members for our farm, and hiring a young person with limited experience was something we were considering,” they said. “Having Workforce Central support us as an employer by managing the paperwork and wages for the intern was hugely beneficial!”

Hosting a paid intern through the program allowed the farm to have another part-time crew member and the ability to train the young adult without the significant cost of wages.

“We expect this person to stay on with us when the program ends, which is very exciting,” they added.
