Michael F.

Michael was transitioning out of the military and looking to work towards a new career path. He worked as a criminal investigator but learned that he was interested in supply chain management through projects he worked on during his time in the Army. He was seeking out any way he could work towards breaking into that field without having a formal background in the industry.

Michael worked one-on-one with his career advisor at WorkSource JBLM to determine what he needed to achieve his occupational goal. He found a program at Clover Park Technical College that provided training on becoming a Supply Chain Professional. Michael was the first person that attended the training to complete the program.

Toward the end of the training program, Michael was able to start working as a Lean Solutions Specialist at Fastenal. He says that the course he took directly translates into the work that he does on a daily basis and that he is enjoying the job.

Michael plans to stay in his current role for now and continue to grow his skills and gain experience.
