Valentina V.

When Valentina arrived in the US, she was not familiar with the employment system here. English is her second language, and she struggled with the process of validating her degree and how to apply for jobs. After searching for a job on her own for six months, Valentina connected with the WorkSource Pierce network and enrolled in the Dislocated Worker program. Through this, she participated in a Work Experience internship that allowed her to gain confidence and essential marketable job skills. As a result, she found a job as an architect and is working on getting her National Council of Architectural Registration Board Certification, which will allow her more flexibility to pursue work in multiple jurisdictions.
