Ivelina a WorkSource customer smiling

Ivelina B.

Ivelina had not had a job in several years. She lacked the confidence to get into the workforce because she felt she had little to no valuable skills that were appealing to employers. All her prior work experience was from out of the country.

She was referred to Career TEAM at WorkSource JBLM by a friend. She saw the success that her friend achieved and thought to herself, I can do this too. Since Ivelina’s children are now school-age, she thought getting work experience and building her network would be best.

Ivelina was accepted into the WorkSource Spouse Ambassador program, and she was able to gain marketable skills. Her career advisor helped her work on her resume and interview skills, gave tips to build her confidence, and assisted with job search and networking.

Ivelina was able to use the training and resources provided to her to get hired on as a paraeducator and will be starting work this coming school year. She hopes to gain work experience that she can put onto her resume and eventually seek better positions in the future.
