Jesse J.

Jesse was looking to change his career after working in the restaurant industry as a server. He struggled with working in the industry, especially during and after the pandemic. He wanted to find a quality career where he could provide a better life for his daughter.

“I walked into WorkSource unemployed and discouraged,” Jesse said. “Having only ever worked in the restaurant industry with no real-world skills, I was deeply concerned for my future.”

At the WorkSource Pierce center, Jesse connected with a Career Advisor from Career TEAM. Together they went over Jesse’s case and developed a plan to improve his situation. Through coaching, mentoring, and reviewing options, Jesse decided he wanted to learn a new skill and obtain his Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). Jesse received tuition assistance to cover the cost of training at a commercial truck driver school. He completed his training for a CDL-A and then secured employment with Prime Inc.
