SERVICES FOR YOUNG ADULTS
Pierce County’s workforce development system tailors services specifically for young adults to explore their skills and interests while providing guidance into education and training or entering directly into the working world.
The traditional college route doesn’t always fit every lifestyle. The workforce development system matches young adults with career training programs and entry-level positions that offer room to grow and experience to take on the next step in their career pathway. Where basic skills and credentials are needed, certified counselors craft personalized plans that fit each young adult’s interests and goals.
WorkSource Pierce Young Adult Services
Through the WorkSource Pierce network of providers, young adults can receive an array of services including job readiness and exploration, education, workshops & skill building, and support services. WorkSource’s free programs will build life skills and kickstart the pathway to a quality career.
Pre-Apprenticeship & Apprenticeship
Apprenticeships provide a structured pathway for young adults to master an art, trade, or job that results in long-term, quality employment. Pre-apprenticeship programs are designed to prepare individuals for entry and success into formal Apprenticeship programs. There are a variety of Apprenticeship and Pre-Apprenticeship programs available throughout Pierce County.
