Due to the COVID-19 pandemic the Korean Women’s Association (KWA) found itself dealing with continuous workforce demand and consistently pursued hiring during 2021.
In the slowest months of 2021, they needed upwards of 20 workers. In the busiest months, more than 40 workers at any given time. They leveraged Workforce Central’s Business Solutions Team to assist with recruitment for in-home caregivers to fill the needs of their clientele throughout 2021.
While they employed many strategies to grapple this demand, KWA initiated contact with our Business Solutions Team regarding their projected shortage of staffing in December of 2020. The team held check-in meetings every 4-6 weeks to discuss staffing needs and the ways in which they were engaging the jobseeker market.
In 2021, KWA participated in more than a half dozen Hire Pierce County virtual job fairs and worked closely with our recruiter to post jobs and spread the word regarding their openings. This connection led to several dozen hires being made for in-home caregivers by being able to support access to a larger jobseeker market.
