Hire Pierce County: Next Gen is pairing young adults, ages 16-24, with businesses throughout Pierce County in various paid internship roles. The program provides valuable work experience and training to young adults while also helping businesses meet staffing needs.
Tacoma Trophy in Lakewood has joined the program offering two internship opportunities for a Showroom and Inventory Associate and a Production Associate. The retired-military, family-owned business has been operating since 2006 and is considered the leader in Puget Sound Recognition. In addition to trophies, the company offers challenge coins, shadow boxes, gifts, collectibles, custom orders, and notary-copy-fax services.
Showroom and Inventory Associate
Internship Opportunity: Tacoma Trophy
Location: 4021 100th St SW #B, Lakewood
Requirements: Vaccination required, masks must be worn when not eating or drinking

Schedule: 9:00 am to 6:00 pm, weekdays; 9:00 am to 3:00 pm Saturdays
Skills: Must present a professional appearance and a friendly manner; Must be dependable and punctual; Be courteous and personable when dealing with the public and co-workers; Be self-directed, willing to take initiative, and detail-oriented; Respect and maintain confidentiality of Tacoma Trophy’s customers and staff; Computer skills are desired, but not necessary; Must be able to print or write legibly.
Description: The intern in this role will perform a variety of tasks related to customer service, showroom and product display staging, and receiving and storing inventory. This position helps to extend the resources in the customer service function of the company to better assist and direct the needs of customers. The intern will assist the inventory associate with inventory receiving, storage and retrieval. They will assist customers when picking up or placing orders and help showroom associates with new product displays and pricing. They will also proofread, and quality check finished orders to guarantee accuracy.
Production Associate

Description: The intern placed in the Production Associate role will perform a variety of tasks related to product assembly and finishing, such as staining, painting, gluing, and working with small hand tools to put trophies together. This position helps to extend the resources in the production department to complete orders faster. The intern may assist engravers with quality checking order and pre-production. They may assist other production team members with large order and large product completion. Interns may also be asked to help other production team members in pulling inventory items for production and to proofread and quality check finished orders to guarantee accuracy.
